...are being added to the EarlyReviewers library!

Nov 3, 2009, 5:11pm (top)Message 2: DevourerOfBooks

Woo! Thanks for letting us know, off to check it out!

Nov 3, 2009, 5:30pm (top)Message 3: lorax

Woo hoo, my favorite time of the ER month!

Nov 3, 2009, 5:32pm (top)Message 4: lorax

Oh no! There's a book on there I really want -- so much that it's on my wishlist, so I'll presumably be disqualified from receiving it. Crap crap crap.

Nov 3, 2009, 5:37pm (top)Message 5: _Zoe_

Hmm. Are we really disqualified from receiving books already in our catalogues? They might have assumed that people just wouldn't request books they already owned, and therefore not bothered to prevent it.

Nov 3, 2009, 5:39pm (top)Message 6: lorax

One can always hope, I suppose. Abby? Would it be divulging dark secrets of the algorithm to answer this?

Nov 3, 2009, 6:08pm (top)Message 7: Belladonna1975

I had an old HB of Mistress of Mellyn by Victoria Holt. They are reprinting some of her books and that one was on ER. I requested it and I got it so dont despair. Now, if only I had time to read it and review it.....

Nov 3, 2009, 6:20pm (top)Message 8: torontoc

How do you see the new November books- all I see are the October ones.

4/5/6

Somebody has actually asked this question (no idea what thread). Abby says you're definitely NOT disqualified. It won't help you either, though, since they're looking at best matches. Supposedly it makes no difference whatsoever.

If you add the Early Reviewers account to your Interesting Libraries, you'll be able to stalk see the books in your Connection News as they're added.

4> For the last two months, I've gotten books that were on my wishlist, so it doesn't disqualify you at all.

Great! I still probably won't get it -- it's SF, which tends to be wildly popular -- but at least I'll have a shot.

Nov 4, 2009, 7:04am (top)Message 14: kaykwilts

I see a book on that list that I really, really, really want in a topic that I have a lifelong interest in. I hope I can snag it!

Nov 4, 2009, 8:02am (top)Message 15: indygo88

Oh goodness! Lots of great authors this time! (& wishlist book(s)!) *Fingers crossed!*

Nov 4, 2009, 9:55am (top)Message 16: rastaphrog

WOW!! 88 books!

Nov 4, 2009, 9:59am (top)Message 17: sebago

Nov 4, 2009, 11:57am (top)Message 19: sebago

18 - Yup did that ... still do not see the November list from which to request from. I am sure I am just missing the obvious lol.

19>

It's not open for requests yet.

Nov 4, 2009, 1:59pm (top)Message 21: ladygata

I haven't snagged a book in ages...hope this is my chance - I see Jasper Fforde in there!! The long awaited book...I haven't been this anxious about the ER's in a while!

I noticed the books being added and am finding some interesting ones. I may try to look at them later tonight when and if I have time. I see a few interesting ones. Not sure if they are books that the algorithm will pick me for. I can only hope and pray. It has almost been a year since I won a book from ER.

Nov 4, 2009, 4:57pm (top)Message 26: calm

Had a quick look, but I think I'll wait until they are officially posted - too much disappointment when they aren't available in "my country":)

Nov 4, 2009, 8:43pm (top)Message 27: krysbrezinski

This will be my first month requesting, so I'll have my fingers crossed. There are quite a few books I'm quite interested in on the list.

Nov 5, 2009, 1:57pm (top)Message 28: AquariusNat

Still waiting for the Nov. 09 requests to start up ! Please hurry Abby ! "slides some fresh brie towards our fav girl"

Nov 5, 2009, 2:24pm (top)Message 29: nightvamp

I just become a member, so i will be entering also this month. There are some i really like

Nov 5, 2009, 2:37pm (top)Message 30: crazy4reading

Welcome nightvamp and good luck in the ER program.

Nov 6, 2009, 3:21pm (top)Message 31: VisibleGhost

Wow! Now a hundred titles. Most ever.

Nov 6, 2009, 3:33pm (top) Message 32: sonyagreen

Hi all,

The new batch is up!

So, you may have noticed that you started getting profile comments from me about Early Reviewers.

More to come from the blog about why I'm telling you this instead of Abby, I swear. In the meantime, enjoy the November batch!

Nov 6, 2009, 3:55pm (top)Message 33: CKmtl

Really meaty batch this month, and lots of eligible countries. Well done!

Nov 6, 2009, 4:21pm (top)Message 34: lorax

And as it turns out the Fforde book isn't available in the US anyway. Good luck to the Canadians who are eligible for it!

Nov 6, 2009, 4:41pm (top)Message 35: Booksloth

After several months of me moaning about too few books for the UK, what a great geographical spread this month. I won't ask what Abby had to do with all those publishers but she must have done it good! Thanks Abby. For the first time in ages I've requested several and will just keep fingers crossed for anything the algorithm cares to chuck at me.

Ed for very weird spelling

Wow there's quite a few I like the look of this month which makes a change from last month when i didn't request anything to now when I've requested three!
Just gotta hope the algorithm gods are smiling on me and I actually get a book this month, as i'm starting to lose hope that I'll ever snag one :/

Nov 6, 2009, 5:20pm (top)Message 37: Belladonna1975

34> I'm sad about the Fforde book too. No matter, I will just buy it when it comes out anyway! :)

I didn't request anything last time either. This time, I've got my eye on 2. We will see what happens!

Nov 6, 2009, 7:31pm (top)Message 38: McCoog40

Theres only one book out of all those I would like, Imagine that!!!

Hope I get it.

Nov 6, 2009, 7:39pm (top)Message 39: Deesirings

Oh, yeah, that is one drool-worthy batch as far as this Canadian is concerned! I hope I didn't go too crazy with the requests (after having won a few that I only had a mild interest in, I was supposed to learn my lesson and only request books that I really, really wanted)! Fingers crossed!

Nov 6, 2009, 8:43pm (top)Message 40: aya.herron

Wow! What a great list. There's quite a few that look interesting to me. Good Luck everyone!

Nov 6, 2009, 10:56pm (top)Message 41: elizabeth_s

Ooh, several good fantasies. Maybe I'll get lucky.

Nov 7, 2009, 11:40am (top)Message 42: kristenn

Yikes. After not requesting anything in October, I wanted nine in this batch. I hope the algorithm doesn't mark you down if you request too many.

Nov 7, 2009, 1:30pm (top)Message 43: crazy4reading

There are so many books it took me a long time to go through them all. There are a few that I want. Not sure how many I requested because I keep changing my mind. Good Luck everyone!!

Nov 7, 2009, 2:06pm (top)Message 44: secretlondon

Am I allowed to smirk at the Soviet Union (being phased out) entry?

Also do we have many members in North Korea? ;)

Nov 7, 2009, 3:22pm (top)Message 45: jfetting

I only want one this batch, but I really really want it. Fingers crossed!

ETA: the David Kynaston book, that is. I loved Austerity Britain and now I want to read the next one.

Nov 7, 2009, 3:45pm (top)Message 46: Wosret

I exlaimed with delight when I saw The Poison Eaters! Considering I have almost all of her books, I think I have a pretty good chance at winning it. :D

Nov 7, 2009, 7:48pm (top)Message 47: FicusFan

I requested 2, so I hope one of them comes through. I too haven't requested in a few months because nothing grabbed me. This batch is very good.

Nov 7, 2009, 9:46pm (top)Message 48: tardis

lots of great choices - first time in ages that I've wanted to request more than one or two. I tried to be restrained and not request all the ones I would have liked.

Nov 7, 2009, 11:31pm (top)Message 49: infiniteletters

48: "I tried to be restrained and not request all the ones I would have liked."

Why? You can only get one book, after all...

Nov 8, 2009, 12:07am (top)Message 50: tardis

I know, but it just seems greedy. I've been quite successful in winning books.

Nov 8, 2009, 9:02am (top)Message 51: rastaphrog

Six books for me. Dang! My wish list just keeps growing!*G*

Nov 8, 2009, 1:42pm (top)Message 52: southernmax

The list is very impressive!!!

Nov 9, 2009, 3:43pm (top) Message 53: sonyagreen

I just noticed that the publisher was offering up 1,000 copies of Lift. I emailed to double check – turns out they were intending 25.

Sorry if that disappoints anyone thinking the odds were way more in their favor for that title.

Nov 9, 2009, 5:14pm (top)Message 54: readafew

That is quite a difference...

Nov 9, 2009, 5:34pm (top) Message 55: sonyagreen

It's true. I talk more about it over here.
