Moooooving on.....our derailments continue...again. I'm complaining again. My toe hurts! Found a cute book that one of my student's had. I asked her if I could borrow it for tonight. It's Pink Princess Tea Parties. Absolutely adorable. I'm using for ideas for our Valentine's Tea Party. Oct 27, 2009, 6:36pm (top)Message 3: pollysmiththere goes Kirby, complaining again :) hope your toes better soon. Never ask a toddler a question if you don't want an answer. One of my little boys was climbing where he shouldn't. I asked him to get down which of course he didn't and I had to go get him and told him not to go there again which of course he immeadiately did, whereupon I said, "Oh, Are we being stubborn, today?" and he nodded quite decisively! Oct 27, 2009, 6:39pm (top)Message 4: jugglingpaynesWell, what did you expect him to answer? :o) That makes me think of my youngest and the questions she comes up with when catbastet is trying to get to sleep. (They share a room) One of the best was "Why do we only have TWO arms? We should have three. Or four. Or five. Or six. Or seven..." Oct 27, 2009, 6:42pm (top)Message 5: pollysmithand how often does Cat fantasize about suffocating her sister with a pillow? two? Three? four? She's right though. Although i'm pondering the placement of seven arms. Sounds lopsided. As a traditionalist, i'd opt for either 8 arms, or else six arms and a prehensile tail. Edited to remove withered arm. Oct 29, 2009, 9:47am (top)Message 8: biblioholic29I'm too lazy to go looking for the thread, but I inadvertantly wrote an (almost) haiku as my fb status. I have perfected it. Drawer mashed finger Turned purple fast. Much pain. One-handed typing. Ouch! Is it still purple? swollen? Oct 29, 2009, 11:55am (top)Message 10: biblioholic29It's currently wrapped in gauze, because otherwise I'm sure I'd smack it on everything I got near today. The pain has ebbed, so that's good. I have no idea what it looks like right now. Oct 29, 2009, 8:34pm (top)Message 11: compskibookSo, I have over 1,100 songs shuffled on my ipod. The other day the theme from "Doctor Who" was directly followed by the song "BBC" by Ming Tea with Austin Powers. I thought it was pretty weird and not just because I have those on my ipod! Oct 29, 2009, 11:33pm (top)Message 12: jugglingpaynesThat almost makes me wish I had an iPod. Almost. I like singing along, and earphones throw me off key. Or more off key than usual. Oct 30, 2009, 9:25am (top)Message 13: pollysmithI love to sing along to my Ipod. I'm pretty good if I do say so myself! Oct 30, 2009, 9:51am (top)Message 14: MutombuA blog post I ran across that people in this group may enjoy: Today, I realized that the Clapper does not only respond to clapping, it also responds to any exceptionally loud noise. It may be a bit noisy around here, now, but lights come on when I scream 'Lumos!' and that's all that matters. MLIA Oct 30, 2009, 9:54am (top)Message 15: kirbyownsKIK! That's wonderful! I also sing along to my Ipod, but then again I sing along to anything. Even when the music isn't playing. I wasn't going to get one for the longest time. I have a really nice Sansa Clip that I was using. Then the site that I got my songs from went bankrupt, and I could only find the songs I liked on itunes. So I saved up and watched for sales and got an iPod not too long ago. I'm thinking it was this summer? Not for sure though. Oct 30, 2009, 1:07pm (top)Message 16: biblioholic29#14: That kinda makes me want a Clapper... Oct 30, 2009, 6:53pm (top)Message 17: pollysmithOh very nice! I'm so glad its catching on! Oct 30, 2009, 7:01pm (top)Message 18: jugglingpaynesSo as usual, when I want a sandwich, all the bread is gone. Not even half a fajita. I start complaining about it and catbastet starts crying "Grains! I must have grains!" Watch out for those vegetarian zombies, everyone! Oct 30, 2009, 7:11pm (top)Message 19: MrAndrewlols for #14 & #18. Carbo-zombies. What's half a fajita - a faj or a jita? Oct 30, 2009, 10:29pm (top)Message 20: foggidawnI'm hanging out in the chatroom for half an hour or so, if anyone is so inclined. Oct 30, 2009, 11:10pm (top)Message 21: MrAndrewhmmm. I don't know how I got on LT less without school. Flu-days are better than snowdays, especially when the long, cold, wet Halloween parade gets cancelled! Nov 1, 2009, 8:32am (top)Message 24: pollysmithas long as you aren't one of the ones with flu! Nov 2, 2009, 9:33pm (top)Message 25: theexiledlibrarianI spent the last 4 days in Missouri to attend my nephew's wedding...before I left I was about 1/4 of the way thru An Echo in the Bone, but it was a library book so I didn't want to take it on the plane w/ me. So I took a few shorter paperbacks; today on the plane trip back I got about half thru Kitty Goes to Washington. So my dilemma is (after checking all the LT threads, no internet access for 4 days!)--which book should I read tonight? Decisions, decisions... Nov 3, 2009, 7:37am (top)Message 26: pollysmithfinish the library book or open them all and read a few pages from one then a few pages from the other and so on, that should give you a nice headache:) Nov 4, 2009, 3:17pm (top)Message 27: Kerian#14 Mutombu: Now I want to get a Clapper to shout lumos, too! It's so funny having a feral cat. I was behind on cataloging books so my bed was covered in books just now. Slinky came along and decided she would like to get up. I cleared the books away and spoke quietly to her to come up. I should have known the way with her is to always pretend I don't see her. It's the only way she will come and go from rooms, etc. When I didn't look though, I missed that the poor girl got a claw stuck in a blanket while her body was on the ground. She tried to pull away from me while I had to free her claw. Aside from this, she's been a lot friendlier lately. We were worried because she made friends with my mom and then not long ago decided to always hide away in corners. Now she is playing and eating in front of us again. For three nights this week, she has opted for sleeping on my bed at night versus an empty box the cats fight over to sleep in under my bed. It's so weird to hear a cat snoring loudly from under your bed, but furthermore, scary knowing you may scare a half-wild cat with claws if you dare not sleep in the same position all night. Nov 4, 2009, 9:37pm (top)Message 28: jugglingpaynesYou know that weird style some boys wear that looks like their jeans are about to fall down around their ankles? I saw a young woman wearing that style today. Except the legs of her jeans were much skinnier than the denims that boys wear. The resulting look made her seem like Bert when he did the penguin dance in Mary Poppins. Am I old? I really don't think that style looks good on anyone. Not that I felt any different 18 years ago when I first saw teenagers sporting the look... Nov 4, 2009, 9:38pm (top)Message 29: kidcarcheaperThanks for the post sir... There are signs delineating the treaty line, a tour bus, a woman who moved there and started a Twilight store...they've had 64,000 visitors this year! Only 3,200 people actually live there. The Italian restaurant in Port Angeles has a big sign that says "Site of Edward and Bella's first date", they've sold over 5,000 orders of mushroom ravioli this year alone. He had many endearing behaviors but one that came to mind with your pictures was how he would always sit and pose next to the kids when I tried to take their picture. I never had to place him, he always knew just where to sit.
