***2009 Plan***
Since the 2008 read-the-classics plan didn't quite work out, this year I'm just sticking with a general goal of 75 books. I wish everyone a year of great reading!

I just noticed the kind note you left on my page, and I appreciate it. I really dig this website, wish I had more time to comb through it. If you get a chance to read DEEP IN THE MOUNTAINS, I would love to know what you think. I was at ALA in 2007 signing books, trying to get out as many copies as I could to librarians. In any case, hope 2008 is off to a good start for you.
Best,
T.Cheng

Thanks for the reply. I will try Colm Toibin; I will read anything suggested by a Trevor fan! I agree- Trevor's works are haunting and tense. That is what I love about them, too. That, and they make you really think about things, like dissent, ethnocentrism, and basic human equity.
It's so good to be meeting friendly fellow book-lovers on Library Thing. What an oasis of intelligent discussion. Thanks!

What other Trevor have you read? Anything to suggest?
I am happy to have at least one of his books in my possession now!
I like David Sedaris, too. I loved Dress Your Family in Corduroy & Denim.
Thanks,
